Tragic, Fatal Bicycle Accident in Northampton, Massachusetts

NORTHAMPTON, MA - A news story published on wwlp.com reports that a bicyclist was tragically killed after they were struck by a car in Northampton, Massachusetts.*

According to Laurie Loisel with the Northwestern District Attorney's Office, a 69-year-old man from Northampton was involved in a fatal pedestrian accident at the intersection of Elm Street and Woodlawn Avenue.  The victim was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital, where the victim tragically passed away. 

The news report states that the victim was riding his bicycle along Elm Street by the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue. The car's driver, a 23-year-old woman from Haydenville, stayed at the accident scene.  No criminal charges or citations were issued by law enforcement.

The fatal pedestrian accident is currently being investigating by the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit with the Northwestern District Attorney's Office, the Northampton Police, and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
