Apison Man Tragically Killed in a Motorcycle Accident in Gilmer County, Georgia

FANNIN COUNTY, GEORGIA - A news article published on newschannel9.com reports that a man from Apison was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Gilmer County, Georgia.*

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the fatal motorcycle accident occurred at around 12:30 PM last Sunday along Georgia State Route 52 by Roberts Ridge Road.

The 43-year-old victim was traveling eastbound on SR 52, when a Ford Ranger traveling in the opposite direction attempted to turn left, failed to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist.  The motorcycle then struck the Ford Ranger's passenger side.  The victim was declared dead at the accident scene.

The Georgia State Patrol's Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is currently assisting in the accident investigation. No further information about the accident was provided at this time.
