Law enforcement officers were called out to a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Gleason Avenue and Forrest Road. As the officers arrived, they discovered that a collision involving three motor vehicles had transpired. Three accident victims were transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional. Two people were treated for injuries, and one person tragically passed away due to their accident-related injuries.
According to Buddy Bryan, the Muscogee County Coroner, the victim was identified as 20-year-old woman. She tragically passed away last Wednesday at approximately 12:45 p.m.
During the fatal collision investigation, probable cause was found, and an arrest warrant was issued for a 20-year-old man. The suspect was charged with felony hit and run, homicide by vehicle first degree, failure to render aid, and several other criminal charges.
The suspect is known to be armed and dangerous, and the suspect is on the run. According to law enforcement, the pedestrian collision is currently being investigated.
