Two People Injured in a Head-On Collision by Waterloo
BLACK HAWK COUNTY, GEORGIA - A news article published on nytimes.com reports that koel.com reports that a two-vehicle collision north of Waterloo seriously injured two drivers.*
According to Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office, a 19-year-old Denver man apparently fell asleep whicle driving his pickup truck along County Road C-57 (East Cedar-Wapsi Road). The pick-up truck collided head-on into another pick-up truck by a bridge. The crash trapped one of the drivers was entrapped within his vehicle.
Law emforcement authorities reported that Denver firefighters extricated the 62-year-old Waterloo man had to be extricated from his pickup. Both drivers were taken to a Waterloo hospital for medical treatment. Law enforcement officials described their accident-related injuries as non-life-threatening.
The accident happened just after 12:30 PM.
Black Hawk County Sheriff's officials are continuing their accident investigation. Police reported that they are searching for the driver who rear-ended the motorcyclist and then fled the scene.
The operator of the motorcycle, a man from Lone Tree, sustained injuries in the accident. He was transported to a Waterloo hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred approximately six miles northwest of Brandon.
