UTV and Van Collide in Winneshiek County, Iowa
WINNESHIEK, COUNTY, IOWA - A news article posted on koel.com reports that one person was severely injured in a Utility Terrain Vehicle accident involving the UTV and a van in Winneshiek County, Iowa.*
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a 77-year-old woman from Ridgeway sustained several serious injuries in the accident. Law enforcement officials stated that the woman purportedly drove her UTV into the path of the van.
In an accident report, law enforcement officers stated that the UTV driver was driving along Iowa Highway 9, and she re-entered the traffic lanes of the highway. The van hit the woman in the UTV as she tried to cross the road.
The UTV driver was airlifted to a hospital located in La Crosse, Wisconsin, for emergency medical treatment. The van's driver, an 84-year-old man from Ridgeway, was not hurt in the collision. The crash occurred around 4:45 PM and occurred about one mile east of Ridgeway.
