Five Injured in Baldwin County Accident Caused By Driver Falling Asleep While Driving
A news story posted on macon.com states that five people were severely injured in an early-morning accident. One of the passengers sustained a fractured femur.*
According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper First Class Kevin, a Chevrolet Suburban was transporting a driver, and four passengers crossed over the roadway's centerline and collided head-on with a Ford Fusion. The Suburban's driver was heading toward Milledgeville along Highway 22 when he allegedly fell asleep at the wheel and caused a severe accident.
All four occupants in the Suburban were severely injured in the crash, but no passengers sustained life-threatening accident injuries. The Ford Fusion driver sustained a broken leg. There were no other occupants inside of the Ford Fusion.
The Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating the head-on accident. No criminal charges had been filed at this time. No further information about the severe head-on collision was provided.
