Douglasville Motorcyclist Tragically Killed in a Polk County Accident
GEORGIA — A news report posted on patch.com states that a Douglasville man as tragically killed when his black custom motorcycle collided with a pickup truck along Highway 101 by Burton's Kwik Stop in Aragon, Georgia.*
The motorcyclist, a 53-year-old man, tragically passed away while ,on his way to Floyd Medical Center in Rome Georgia. Polk County Coroner Norman Smith verified the victim's identity on Tuesday.
According to law enforcement official reports, the motorcyclist's black Yamaha motorcycle was heading northbound long Highway 101 when a pickup truck that was heading westbound along Live Oak Road allegedly failed to yield. As the pickup truck crossed on to the highway from Live Oak turns, the left side of the pickup truck contacted the front of the motorcycle.
The Georgia State Patrol is currenlt investigating the fatal motorcycle accident. The victim's body will be being transported to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation for a an autopsy. There were no reports of criminal charges being filed at this time.
