Fatal Motorcycle Accident on South Georgia Street in Amarillo, Texas
Amarillo, TX - A news article posted on Amarillo.com states that a 23-year-old tragically died in a severe motorcycle accident along South Georgia Street in Amarillo, Texas.* The Amarillo Police Department issued a press release concerning a fatal accident that occurred on South Georgia Street. According to the Amarillo Police Department's media release, Amarillo Police officers were dispatched to the 6800 block of South Georgia Street concerning a report of an accident involving a motorcycle and a motor vehicle.
The media report stated that a black sports motorcycle operated by a 23-year-old Amarillo man was heading north along Georgia Street. At that moment a Ford Edge operated by a 26-year-old Amarillo female was traveling south on Georgia Street. The motorcyclist allegedly lost control of his motorcycle, and this caused him to be thrown in front of oncoming traffic. The motorcyclist was then hit by the Ford Edge.
The motorcyclist was transoprted to a local area hospital, where he tragically passed away as result of the accident injuries. The Ford Edge's driver was not injured in the accident. The accident is currently under investigation by Amarillo Police Department's Traffic Investigation Squad.
