Bus Accident at the Intersection of GG Road and Highway 39 in Merrick County, Nebraska
MERRICK COUNTY, NE - A news article posted on newschannelnebraska.com states that a serious accident involving a school bus occurred at the intersection of GG Road and Highway 39.* The Merrick County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle accident last Thursday. Upon arrival to the accident scene, the Merrick County Sheriff's Deputies found a pickup truck hauling livestock and a school bus were involved in the collision.
No children were on the school bus at the time. The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt, was the only bus's only occupant. Both drivers were transported to a local area hospital for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries. According to the news report, all of the livestock was rounded up and then placed with a local rancher until the animals could be returned to the owner.
The traffic accident is currently under investigation. The driver of the school bus was issued a failure to yield citation.
