Man Rams Car into Police Handling a Fatal Accident Scene
CARTERSVILLE, GA - A news report posted on Patch.com states that a Bartow County man rammed law enforcement officers as they worked a fatal accident scene.* The suspect was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, aggravated assault, and several other felony and misdemeanor charges.
The suspect, a 36-year-old man from Cartersville, was arrested after he passed through and then crashed into an active fatal accident investigation on Joe Frank Harris Parkway.
According to law enforcement records, both the Georgia State Patrol troopers and the Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies were investigating a fatal accident when the suspect failed to stop with traffic. The suspect then drove past a police car illegally.
Two Bartow County Sheriff's Office deputies were able to stop the suspect 200 feet beyond the accident scene. The suspect then allegedly accelerated toward the fatal accident site and destroying several pieces of evidence.
