Tragic, Fatal Three Car Accident on I-285 in DeKalb County, Georgia
DEKALB COUNTY, GA - A news article posted on patch.com reports that the DeKalb County police stated that one person was tragically killed and one other person was severely injured in a three-car accident on Interstate 285.* The accident shut down I-285 for around four hours and caused significant delays during the morning commute.
The DeKalb County Police Department officers began investigating the motor accident at around 2:45 AM. The accident occurred along I-285 by the Flat Shoals Parkway. Law enforcement closed down a portion of the interstate until after 7 AM. According to the primary investigation, the head-on crash was caused by an unnamed female driver who was driving in the wrong direction along Interstate 285.
The female motorists stuck another car, and that vehicle collided with a third motor vehicle. Police stated that the driver in the second vehicle died from his accident. No additional information was released on the medical condition of the third driver. The female driver was transported to a local area hospital and was in critical condition. She is expected to be arrested and charged with reckless driving and felony vehicular homicide, according to the DeKalb police said.
