Motorcyclist Killed in Accident on N.C. 8 in Davidson County, North Carolina

DAVIDSON COUNTY, NC  - A news story published on myfox8.com reports that a motorcyclist was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in Davidson County, North Carolina.*

According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at around 1:59 PM at the intersection of South Main Street Extension and N.C. 8, close to the town of Denton, North Carolina.

North Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers stated that a motorcycle was headed north along N.C. 8, and the driver of an SUV allegedly did not stop at a stop sign at South Main Street Extension.  The news report states that two motor vehicles crashed, and the motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle.  The motorcyclist tragically died at the accident scene, and the driver of the SUV was transported to Lexington Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorcyclist's name was not released to the public. Criminal charges are pending in the case, according to troopers.
