Teen Driver is Injured in an Accident in Lee County, Georgia

LEESBURG, GA - A news report posted on WALB.com states that one person has been injured in an accident on Haley Drive in Lee County, Georgia.*  Traffic was detoured after the accident in Lee County last Friday.  According to Georgia State Patrol (GSP) troopers, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly on her cell phone and driving 98 miles per hour on wet roads when she has an accident.  According to the report, she was driving on a learner’s permit.

The Georgia State Patrol stated that the girl was using the app Snapchat, and the troopers obtained recorded footage of the accident from the teen’s cell phone.

She was airlifted to the emergency hospital in Macon, Georgia.  According to county officials, Haley Drive was closed for about 10 hours after the auto accident.

Georgia Power crews are worked to restore power to the local area due to the accident.  The accident is currently under investigation.  There were no other details provided about the condition of the driver.
