Fatal Motorcycle Accident With Multiple-vehicles on Lee Highway in Chattanooga, Tennessee
CHATTANOOGA, TN - A news story on wdef.com reports that the Chattanooga Police are investigating a multi-vehicle accident that tragically killed a motorcyclist.* According to the Chattanooga Police, a Chevy Avalanche was driving along South Lee Highway and was waiting to turn left on Ooltewah Ringgold Road. The victim, who was riding a Harley Davidson, was riding along North Lee Highway in the right traffic lane and was passing heavy traffic.
The Chattanooga Police Department stated that the Chevy Avalanche driver turned left turn as the Harley Davidson driver entered the intersection. This caused the motorcyclist to strike them, and the collision ejected the motorcycle rider. The motorcycle accident caused the Chevy Avalanche to strike a Toyota Rav 4.
The motorcycle rider was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Chattanooga Police state that a passenger in the Chevy Avalanche had to be extricated. The Toyota Rav 4's driver was not injured.
The Chattanooga Police Department stated that the Harley Davidson's driver tragically passed away from his accident-related injuries later Saturday night. He was only 51-years-old. The Chattanooga Police Department is asking for those with information about the accident to contact their office.
