Fatal Accident on Florida's Turnpike in West Boca Raton, Florida

BOCA RATON, FL - A news report published on sun-sentinel.com states that a 44-year-old man from Miami, Florida, was tragically killed in an accident on Florida's Turnpike in Palm Beach County, Florida.*  The fatal accident occurred at around 6:15 PM by Mile Marker 78 and just west of Boca Raton, Florida.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol accident report, the man pulled his pickup truck over to the shoulder of the Turnpike after the vehicle began having mechanical problems.   

The man was outside his pickup truck and was checking his truck's engine when a 40-year-old man from Delray Beach, Florida, in an SUV swerved over to the right lane, then struck and killing the man working on his truck's engine.  The pickup truck's six passengers were uninjured.

The SUV driver reportedly suffered minor injuries. 

No names of those involved in the accident were released at this time.  Law enforcement is investigating that accident.  No criminal charges have been filed at this time.
