Two People Were Tragically Killed in an Accident in Bryan County, Georgia (GA)

BRYAN COUNTY, GA - A news report published on wsav.com states that a three-car collision tragically killed two people and severely injured one more person in Bryan County, Georgia.*  The fatal accident occurred early Saturday morning.

According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper Corporal Dante Williams, a fourth person was treated and then released at the accident scene.  The accident was caused by a wrong-way accident on U.S. 17 by Belfast Keller Lane.  The wrong-way driver was killed in the accident that happened around 7 AM.

The news report states that one of the drivers was driving a 2011 Honda Civic northbound in a southbound lane.  The wrong-way driver was heading in Richmond Hill's direction when he crashed head-on with a motorist in a GMC Sierra pickup truck and a Toyota Corolla. 

The Sierra truck's driver was severely injured and then was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia.  He was transported by ambulance and may face severe surgeries.  A passenger riding in the Sierra truck was tragically killed, and the driver of the Toyota Corolla was treated and then released at the accident scene.

Bryan County Firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician Drew Davis stated he hand other medical personnel at the accident scene were informed a victim was in labor.  Prior to the accident, the family was traveling to Winn Army Community Hospital when they were involved in the accident.  The woman delivered her baby safely with the assistance of emergency medical services. 

The accident is currently under investigation.  No other information was provided.
