Tragic, Fatal Accident on Pat Mell Road in Cobb County, Georgia
COBB COUNTY, GA - A news report published on fox5atlanta.com states that the Cobb County Police Department is investigating a fatal accident.*
According to the Cobb County Police Department, a 26-year-old woman from Douglasville tragically passed away in the motor vehicle. Her passenger, an 18-year-old woman also from Douglasville, was severely injured. The accident report states that both women were ejected from the vehicle during the accident. The passenger is in stable medical condition at the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
According to the accident investigators, neither woman was wearing a seatbelt. Investigators stated that the accident happened on Pat Mell Road by Lorene Drive in unincorporated Marietta, Georgia. The report states that the driver was heading westbound on Pat Mell Road when the car suddenly swerved off the roadway as the car approached a curve, ran over a sidewalk, and then became airborne. Law enforcement officials stated that the Toyota then landed in the roadway and crashed into another concrete curb.
Investigators determined the car rolled off of the roadway and struck a tree behind the Save & Go Food Mart. The accident is currently under investigation.
