Fatal Hit-and-run Pedestrian Collision near the GA Outer 10 Loop in Athens, Georgia

ATHENS, GA - A news story published on 11alive.com reports that a 21-year-old University of Georgia student was tragically killed in a hit-and-run collision that happened on Sunday in Athens, Georgia.* The fatal collision happened around the area of the GA Outer 10 Loop by Chase Street.  

According to the news story, the victim is from Toccoa, Georgia. He was walking by the GA Outer 10 Loop when he was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene of the fatal collision scene, the Athens-Clarke County Police reported. The victim died as a result of the injuries that he sustained in the pedestrian collision. 

Athens-Clarke County Police reported that this collision was the eighth fatal motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian in Athens-Clarke County this year. The Athens-Clarke County Police are currently investigating the fatal pedestrian accident. Law enforcement officers are asking eyewitnesses or those with information to contact local police or give an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
