20-Year-Old Lakeland Man Dies After Motorcycle Accident in Auburndale, Florida
AUBURNDALE, FL - A news report on dailyridge.com states that on Thursday, March 11, 2021, at around 6:50 pm, law enforcement officers with the Auburndale Police Department were called out to a traffic accident with injuries.*
The accident involved a Harley Davidson Motorcycle and a Cadillac XT4 and occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Magnolia Avenue and in Auburndale, Florida.
According to the preliminary investigation, the Cadillac XT4 operated by a 44-year-old man from Auburndale, Florida, was attempting to turn north onto Main Street from Magnolia Avenue. The driver had a yellow turn signal. At the same time, the Harley Davidson, driven by a 20-year-old man from Lakeland, Florida, was following a vehicle that was stopping for the yellow traffic light. The motorcyclist allegedly traveled around the motor vehicle in front of him and into the turning Cadillac XT4. The accident threw the motorcyclist into the southbound traffic lanes of Main Street into a Ford F150 pickup truck that was stopped at the intersection.
The motorcyclist was taken to Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center, where he passed away from his accident-related injuries. The motorcycle accident investigation is ongoing at this time. Those who have helpful information are asked to contact the Traffic Homicide Unit.
