Georgia Man Tragically Killed in an I-64 Accident in Bath County, Kentucky
BATH COUNTY, KY - An accident news story on wtvq.com reports that a 29-year-old man from Georgia was tragically killed when the man lost control of his 18-wheeler and then crashed on I-64 in Bath County, Kentucky.*
According to the Kentucky State Police, the victim from Soperton, Georgia, tragically passed away when the Kenworth 18-wheeler truck was heading east on I-64, crossed the median, drove into the oncoming traffic in two westbound lanes, and then overturned in the westbound shoulder of I-64.
The truck accident was reported to Georgia highway Patrol troopers at around 1:15 pm. The truck accident was located at the 123-mile marker in Bath County.
According to Bath County Coroner Andrew Owens, the victim was tragically declared dead at the accident scene. The news report states that Bath County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Kentucky State Police, Kentucky State Police Division of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, Owingsville Police Department, Bath County Fire and Rescue, Bath County EMS, and the Bath County Coroner's Office.
This accident investigation is currently under investigation by Kentucky State Police, Post 8, of Morehead, Kentucky. No additional details were provided.
