Fatal 18-Wheeler Accident Tragically Kills an Elderly Woman from Hudson Valley, New York
According to a news report online posted on hudsonvalleypost.com, an elderly woman from Hudson Valley, New York, was tragically killed when she was involved in an accident with an 18 wheeler along route 17 K.* The fatal truck accident occurred at approximately 10:20 in the morning, according to New York State Police.
The news report stated that the 18-wheeler was traveling westbound along State Route 17 K. According to law enforcement officials investigating the tractor-trailer truck accident, investigators discovered that the victim was hit by a tractor-trailer that was trying to turn left on two State Route 17 K.
The victim was treated at the accident scene by the Town of Wallkill Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She was then taken to Garnett Health in Middletown, New York, for additional medical treatment. The New York State Police reported that the 77-year-old victim was alert and conscious when she was taken to Garnet Health. As the victim was receiving treatment at the local area hospital, the victim tragically died to come to her accident-related injuries.
The New York State Police are currently investigating the accident and did not release the name of the tractor-trailer truck driver. According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the New York State police, the truck driver was not impaired or using a cell phone at the time of the crash.
