BANKS COUNTY, GA - A news story posted on fox5atlanta.com reports that the Georgia Department of Transportation announced a traffic accident on Interstate 85 northbound in Banks County, Georgia, causing traffic delays that may take over an hour to clear.*

The GDOT stated that the motor vehicle accident involves one truck and four cars.  Law enforcement officials determined it would take until 4 in the afternoon to clear the collisions.

The motor vehicle accident shut down the lefthand lane, one of two northbound traffic lanes close to State Route 15 and U.S. 441.  No accident-related injuries or deaths were reported at this time.

Georgia Department of Transportation also stated that there is construction roadwork beginning at 10 in the evening along I-85 in Banks County between mile markers 150 to 169.  The construction work is believed to continue through the rest of the night.
