Two People Have Been Hospitalized After an Accident on SR 22 in Baldwin County, Georgia

BALDWIN COUNTY, GA - A news story posted on reports that two drivers were severely injured in an accident that shut a road down for several hours.*

According to Georgia State Patrol, the driver who caused the head-on accident was driving under the influence.  The Georgia State Patrol stated that the collision occurred around 3 pm last Wednesday.  The location of the accident was along SR 22 at mile marker 3 in Baldwin County, Georgia. 

According to witness statements and reported accident scene evidence, the Dodge Ram truck driver was heading eastbound when the driver crossed the double-solid yellow line and collided head-on into a Lexus SUV.  Neither of the drivers had passengers with them, and the two drivers sustained serious injuries, and they were transported to the Medical Center, Atrium Health Navicent, with serious injuries.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the driver of the Dodge Ram truck was suspected of driving under the influence.  The man is facing criminal charges.  Neither driver was identified in the preliminary information, and the full report is not available yet.
