February 16, 2021

COBB COUNTY, GA - A news article published on reports that a 58-year-old Kenyan man for Marietta, Georgia, was tragically killed in a multi-car accident in Cobb County, Georgia.*  The victim passed away at the accident scene after his 18-wheeler truck collided with several multiple vehicles.

According to the news report, the truck driver was the only person to die in the accident, while other drivers were able to the crash with non-life-threatening injuries.  The collision caused the closure of Interstate-75 on both sides for several hours as first responders and law enforcement worked the accident scene.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, seven semi-tractor-trailers and nine cars were involved in the crash, which occurred at approximately 11:15 am.

A box van was the first motor vehicle to catch fire before the flames expanded to another motor vehicle and then eventually ignited the tractor-trailer truck the victim was operating.

One driver stated that an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer truck veered about one hundred feet in front of him then collided with a car while attempting to dodge it.  The truck pushed other motor vehicles into a tractor-trailer, and other motor vehicles began colliding with each other from behind.

The accident is currently under investigation by law enforcement.  No criminal charges have been reported at this time.
