Fatal Accident Along Highway 16 in Putnam County, Georgia
PUTNAM COUNTY, GA - An accident story published on 13wmaz.com reports that one person was tragically killed in an accident along Highway 16 in Putnam County, Georgia, on Thursday.*
According to Howard Sills, the Putnam County Sheriff, the two motor vehicles involved in the fatal collision were a Volkswagen Tiguan and an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer truck.
The Putnam County Sheriff stated that accident evidence confirms the Tiguan's driver crossed the median line and collided with the 18-wheeler tract-trailer truck head-on. The Putnam County Sheriff Office believes that the Tiguan's driver may have had some type of medical emergency based on the type of medication found inside the victim's car at the accident scene. A coroner's report will help to determine the cause.
The truck driver, a man from Union, South Carolina, was driving a Brown Packing Company tractor-trailer truck. The trucker stated that he is okay. The driver of the Volkswagen, a 33-year-old man, did not survive the accident. The accident is currently under investigation.
