Head-on Accident in Fullerton Kills a 21-year-old Woman and Injures Three Other Motorists
FULLERTON, GA - According to an accident news report posted on ocregister.com, firefighters worked to extricate two women from a car that was hit head-on by a truck in Fullerton, Georgia.* Tragically, a 21-year-old driver of the car passed away. Her passenger, the pickup truck driver, and another motorist involved in the accident were hospitalized.
According to the report, the accident was caused by a pickup truck swerved into oncoming traffic and collided head-on into a car. The preliminary investigation infers that the black Chevrolet Silverado was driving erratically along northbound Magnolia Avenue when the truck moved into southbound lanes by Valencia Drive. The truck then collided head-on with a Toyota Corolla and then flipped over and struck a Ford Edge. The Corolla rotated out and then collided with a Nissan Altima.
Firefighters needed to use saws and other heavy equipment to free the people trapped inside the wrecked Toyota. The 21-year-old driver of the crashed car was then transported to a local area hospital, where she was tragically pronounced dead a short while later. Her identity has not been made public.
The 18-year-old passenger inside the Corolla, the 36-year-old man driving the Silverado, and the 50-year-old man driving the Edge remain hospitalized as of 2:45 p.m., according to the Fullerton Police Department Lieutenant Jon Radus said. Their injuries were severe but not life-threatening.
The investigation into the multi-vehicle accident is ongoing. It was not immediately apparent if drugs or alcohol caused the collision.
Authorities are asking for those with information about the accident to contact the Fullerton Police Department Accident Investigator. Tips can also be left with Orange County Crime Stoppers.
