Two Cedartown Students Tragically Killed in a Truck Accident on GA-1

GEORGIA - According to a news report on coosavalleynews.com, a fatal accident occurred at around 4 p.m. on GA 1.  A female driver in a Honda Accord was trying to make a left turn from GA-1 onto Youngs Farm Road.*

As the young woman made the left turn, she accidentally entered the path of a Freightliner tractor-trailer truck traveling along the left lane of GA-1 northbound.  The front of the 18-wheeler tractor-trailer struck the right side of the woman's motor vehicle.  After the vehicles collided, the vehicle left the roadway, and the woman's Honda flipped over onto its roof.

The Honda then was caught beneath the tractor-trailer truck.  The two children inside Honda were tragically killed at the accident scene.

The tractor-trailer truck driver sustained injuries and was transported to Redmond Medical for medical attention.  The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the wreck.
