Two Tragically Killed in an Accident in Bartholomew County, Indiana (IN)
BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, IN - According to an accident report on cbs4indy.com, accident investigators stated that two people were tragcially killed in two different motor vehicle accidents in just five hours.* At approximately 4:35 p.m., police were dispatched to an accident on E. 25th Street, just west of County Road 650 East in artholomew County, Indiana.
Tragically, a 10-year-old girl from Columbus, passed away at the accident scene. Police officers stated that she was riding in the backseat of a her mother's Nissan Pathfinder. Her mother was driving the SUV. Police also responded to different accident along US 31 close to the Indianapolis Road overpass at approximately 8:55 p.m.
Accident investigators reported that a Buick Rendezvous was traveling north along Highway 31, lost control, crossed the center line, and then collided head-on into a semi truck.
Tragcially, a 53-year-old man from Edinburgh, was killed in the accident. Police stated that he was riding as a passenger in the Buick, and he was was ejected during the impact
The Buick's driver was transported to a local Indianapolis hospital and his medical condition is unknown. Fortunately, the semi tractor-trailer truck driver was not harmed.
Both motor vehicle accidents are being investigated by local police accident reconstructionists.
