Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident on Hwy. 280 in Lee County, Alabama (AL)
LEE COUNTY, AL - According to an online news report published on wtvm.com, one person was tragically killed in a motor vehicle crash in Lee County, Alabama.*
The fatal collision occurred around 4:20 p.m. on US Highway 280 East at Lee Road 737. The motor vehicle accident took the life of a 71-year-old woman from Salem.
The victim was pinned in her motor vehicle, and the woman needed to be extricated from her wrecked vehicle. The victim was transferred to East Alabama Medical Center, where she tragically succumbed to her accident-related injuries.
The Lee County Coroner’s Office stated that the victim appeared to have pulled out in front of a Ford F-150 that was traveling westbound along Highway 280 when the Ford F-150 hit her on the driver’s side. The Ford pickup truck driver was also transported to a local area hospital for treatment of injuries.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, along with the Lee County Coroner’s Office, is conducting a full accident investigation.
