Fatal Pedestrian Accident Along Highway US-17 in Jacksonville, Florida (FL)

JACKSONVILLE, FL - According to a fatal pedestrian accident news report published on news4jax.com, a man was tragically killed after being struck by a motor vehicle along US-17 at Castleberry Road Jacksonville, Florida.*  

The fatal collision happened late Monday night at around 11 pm, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

A preliminary accident report from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office states that the victim was walking along highway US-17 when he was hit by a motor vehicle.  The victim tragically passed away at the scene of the accident, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office spokesperson.

The driver involved in the collision stayed at the scene of the accident and is assisting the accident investigators.  Jacksonville Sheriff's Office officers stated that there is an eyewitness who is also assisting in their investigation. 

Accident scene investigators are trying to determine if the victim was walking on a sidewalk or walking along the side of the road when the collision occurred.  Jacksonville Sheriff's officers would not provide any other details other than the victim was an adult male.  

Traffic Homicide Detectives were taking over the investigation of the fatal pedestrian accident at the time this report was published.
