Tragic, Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Access Road in Covington, Georgia (GA)

According to a motorcycle accident report published on ajc.com, a female driver was arrested and charged after causing an accident that tragically killed a motorcyclist in Covington, Georgia.*

The driver, a 21-year-old woman, was charged with several criminal charges, including following too closely, vehicular homicide, and driving under the influence.  

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the victim, a 55-year-old man from Covington, Georgia, tragically passed away after the accident.  The motorcyclist was operating a 2020 Jiangsu Baodiao 9 Lines along Access Road by the intersection of Capes Drive at around 9:30 p.m.  

According to a Georgia State Patrol, the incident report states that the alleged drunk driver was behind the victim in her Audi.  She was unable to stop her vehicle and collided with the back of the motorcycle.  The collision threw the victim from his motorcycle.  Eyewitnesses stated that the victim was lying on the road and was unresponsive.  The motorcyclist was then transported to the Piedmont Newton Hospital.

The alleged drunk driver was arrested and booked into the Newton County Jail.  The fatal motorcycle accident is currently under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol.
