Gainesville Man is Severely Injured in an Accident Involving Two tractor-trailer Trucks
According to an on online news report published on gainesvilletimes.com, a man from Gainesville was severely injured after he was involved in a two-tractor trailer truck accident in Dawsonville, Georgia.*
The officers who are involved in the investigation stated that the victim was transported to the Grady Memorial Hospital by emergency helicopter. The victim, a 46-year-old man from Gainesville, was involved in the accident with two tractor-trailers on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officers.
According to Lieutenant W. Mark Riley, a Georgia State Patrol spokesman, stated that a 50-year-old man from Salisbury was operating a 2019 Peterbilt tractor-trailer eastbound along Ga. 53 close to the Amicalola Forest Drive turn at approximately 11 a.m. As the trucker was traveling downhill and approached a curve, the victim's tractor-trailer truck began to started overturning. As the truck began to overturn, the truck hit an approaching tract-trailer truck operated by a 48-year-old man from Rome who was traveling westbound on Ga. 53, according to law enforcement authorities.
The victim's tractor-trailer, which overturned on to its left side, also hit the front of a Toyota RAV4 that was also traveling west, according to Lieutenant W. Mark Riley. The victim of that collision and driving the Toyota is from Gainesville. He was he also flown to Grady Memorial Hospital due to his severe injuries. The news reports have not provided an update the condition of those injured. Lieutenant W. Mark Riley stated that there is no evidence of alcohol or drugs intoxication being a cause for the accidents.
