Woman injured in hit-and-run car accident in Scottsbluff
According ton an online news report posted on newschannelnebraska.com, a two-vehicle hit-and-run accident at an intersection in Scottsbluff left one driver seriously injured and the other driver fled the motor vehicle accident scene.*
According to the Scottsbluff Police Department, Scottsbluff intersection accident occurred at about 9:15 in the morning. The victim, a 30-year-old woman from Torrington, was traveling eastbound in her Dodge Journey. As she traveled along East 20th Street, the 25-year-old suspect in the hit-and-run accident, was traveling southbound along 1st Avenue in his Toyota. The 25-year-old suspect then moved through the intersection and crashed into the victim's driver’s side causing accident injuries to the victim.
The motorists cars were so damaged, the suspect was unable to illegally drive away. So the perpetrator jumped out of his motor vehicle and he ran away from the accident scene, according to Scottsbluff Police. The victim was injured and she declined ambulance transport. The Toyota driver was located shortly after the accident. He was arrested and cited for leaving the scene of an injury accident, failure to yield the right of way, and driving under a suspensed drivers license.
