One Tragically Killed in an Accident at the Corner of SC-81 and SC-86 in Anderson County, South Carolina

According to an online news report posted on wspa.com, one person has been tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of SC-81 and SC-86 in Anderson County, South Carolina.*

Another person was severely injured in the accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon.  According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 4:30pm.  The Anderson County Coroner’s Office stated that an SUV was traveling northbound along South Carolina Highway 81 and the SUV driver tried to turn left turn on to South Carolina Highway 86 when the SUV was hit by an oncoming pickup truck.

Anderson County Coroner stated that the SUV's front seat passenger, a 48-year-old Piedmont woman, tragically passed away at the scene of the accident.  According to the Anderson County Coroner, another occupant who was also riding in the SUV was severely injured and the passenger was transported to the Greenville Memorial Hospital.  The South Carolina Highway Patrol stated that the SUV driver was also transported to the hospital.  Fortunately, the driver in the pickup truck did not receive serious injuries.  

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
