Pedestrian Tragically Killed In Road Then Run Over on Hillsborough Avenue By Two Sheriff's Deputies in Hillsborough County, Florida (FL)
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – According to patch.com, two Hillsborough deputies who were responding to an accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle ran over the pedestrian, a male, aged 27, on Hillsborough Avenue.*
Per the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred in the early morning hours this past weekend. The sheriff’s office notes that the pedestrian, from Orlando, was initially hit by a vehicle driven by a Summerfield woman, aged 41, causing him to sustain fatal injuries. The pedestrian was then struck by two deputies who were responding to the initial accident.
The two deputies, aged 24 and 25, have been employed by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office since January and May 2019. The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
Approximately half of all pedestrian crashes involve injuries to the lower extremity, including the legs, ankles, legs, and feet. Upper extremity injuries also occur, where women are more likely to sustain severe injuries to the pelvis than men. Pelvic injuries involve such injuries as broken hips, which is a serious injury, especially for the elderly. The most severe injuries involved in pedestrian accidents are injuries to the chest and head. These types of injuries are often fatal. If not, they often require extensive medical treatment, as they can lead to permanent disability.
If you were struck by a vehicle in Florida, you may pursue the negligent driver’s no-fault insurance policy, which can help you to pay your medical costs and lost income up to the maximum amount allowable. Florida drivers are required to have a minimum of $10,000 in coverage, however, this may not be enough to compensate a pedestrian for his or her injuries. This is why it is critical for you to hire a Florida Personal Injury Attorney to help you fight for monetary compensation for pain and suffering, lost wages, rehabilitation and nursing services, medical equipment and medications, medical expenses, and the loss of enjoyment of life.
