A driver was reportedly in a Chevrolet Equinox in the early afternoon, traveling on Bethel Road. A police officer attempted to pull the driver over, but the suspect fled the scene.*
The driver was speeding away northbound from the officer and drifted onto the shoulder before veering back across the road and into the southbound lanes. The Chevy went up an embankment and then fell onto a Chevrolet work truck. The driver in the truck died in the wreck. Responders stated that the victim was declared dead at the scene.

When bystanders are killed, officers often place the blame on the suspect who fled the scene. However, cities frequently end up paying out settlements after police chases end in crashes.
