Two Killed in Tragic Crash on Andrew Young International Boulevard in Gwinnett County, Georgia (GA)
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA- Ajc.com writes that a crash took place this week in Atlanta this week that left two people dead. The driver who caused the wreck is now facing felony charges.*
Police indicate that the driver, identified as a 31-year-old man from Lawrenceville, was involved in a dispute in the parking lot of a RaceTrac location. In that incident, the driver, operating a 2019 Range Rover, struck two other vehicles.
The man then fled the scene and traveled northbound on Piedmont Avenue. At the intersection with Andrew Young International Boulevard, the man drove through a red traffic signal and struck a 2017 Chevrolet Impala.
The driver of the Impala, identified as a man from Amite, Louisiana, and a female passenger from Marion, Indiana, both died in the wreck. Two other individuals in the Impala sustained injuries in the crash, but both are currently in stable condition. The two surviving victims are women from Amite, Louisiana.
When police arrived at the overnight crash scene, they found an open liquor bottle in the Range Rover.
The 31-year-old man also sustained injuries in the incident and was treated in the hospital before being released into police custody. The man is now being held at the Fulton County jail.
