Eleven-Year-Old Severely Injured in Jet Ski Crash on Lake Sinclair in Georgia
PUTNAM COUNTY, GA- Wgxa.tv writes that an eleven-year-old girl suffered severe injuries in a jet ski crash this week in Putnam County, Georgia. Investigators have not yet located the person who was involved in the crash with the child.*
The victim was on the lake with her family and was practicing riding a jet ski by taking it around in circles close to the Oconee River. Two men were traveling behind the girl on jet skis, and when the girl began to make a left turn, one of them struck her ejecting the little girl off of her vessel.
The girl’s mom said she heard the horrifying sound of the crash. The jet-skiers involved in the incident left the scene and have not yet been identified.
The child was left with a fractured pelvis and a broken leg. Her mother stated that the traumatic incident led to the girl fearing the water. The victim is reportedly in a lot of pain, and following surgery, she is now using a walker to get around.
Police stated that they are searching for the unidentified jet skier who crashed into the girl. Officers suspect that the man’s failure to yield to the girl in front of him was likely a criminal violation. While the crash itself might not lead to criminal charges against the man, failing to report the accident within 48 hours can result in misdemeanor charges.
Police stated that right now, all they are trying to do is speak to the man about the crash. Witnesses at the scene have been speaking to investigators to help potentially identify the man.
