Tragic Three Vehicle Collision Kills Man from Front Royal, Virginia

FRONT ROYAL, VA- The nvdaily.com writes that a three-vehicle collision occurred in Page County this week that left one person dead. The crash took place on US 340 close to VA 684, which is also known as Goodmill Road.* 

During the early evening, a 2015 Ford Mustang was driving northbound when it veered across the painted center lines and the southbound traffic lanes. The car struck a 2001 Ford F-350 that was pulling a trailer. The Mustang then left the roadway and struck a guardrail causing the driver to be thrown from the car. A 2005 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound at the time and was struck by the crash debris. 

Reports indicate that the 27-year-old Front Royal man driving the Mustang was killed in the wreck. The victim was declared deceased at the site of the collision. A passenger who was in the car was injured in the crash and transported to the Page Memorial Hospital. The injured passenger was identified as a 24-year-old woman. 

The man driving the F-350 sustained injuries in the accident and was transported to the Page Memorial Hospital. That individual was identified as a 23-year-old from Panama, Florida.

A local resident near the scene of the crash stated that it sounded as though a bomb had exploded when the crash occurred. Drivers in the area were advised to anticipate traffic delays while crews worked to investigate and clear the site. 

Police reports suggest that speed and alcohol are both believed to have been contributing factors in the tragic accident. The Virginia State Police Accident Reconstruction Team is working on the investigation.
