Tragic Crash Kills Young Man in Lawrenceville, Georgia (GA)
LAWRENCEVILLE, GA- According to 11alive.com, a young man died in a tragic crash during the evening in Lawrenceville this week. The Gwinnett County Police reported that the incident occurred at the intersection of Church Road and Lawrenceville Highway.*
When officers responded to the site of the deadly wreck, they found one of the vehicles still in the road while the other was in the woods on the side of the roadway.
The crash took place on Lawrenceville Highway when the victim, identified as a 21-year-old man, was driving northbound in a grey Infiniti G37. The other motorist, a 20-year-old man in a white Acura TSX, was driving on James Road and attempted to make a left turn into the northbound lanes of the highway.
As the vehicles approached one another, the drivers both attempted to avoid the wreck, with the Acura swerving to the left and the Infiniti swerving right. The evasive maneuvers failed, and the two vehicles collided. The Acura remained on the road after the impact, but the Infiniti left the pavement and traveled directly into a tree.
The young man in the Infiniti died from the injuries he sustained in the crash. No passengers were in the Infiniti at the time of the accident. A passenger was in the Acura at the time of the wreck.
Police are still working out the details as to how the tragic collision happened. Currently, they have not filed any charges.
