Three, Tragic and Deadly Accidents Occurring Within Four Hours in Louisiana (LA)

LOUISIANA- Beauregarddailynews.net writes that three deadly collisions occurred in a matter of four hours in Louisiana this week. Two of the deadly incidents involved pedestrian crashes. The first accident occurred overnight on Interstate 10 in the westbound lanes in Iberville Parish. The victim was identified as a 48-year-old woman from Marianna, Florida.*

The victim had been driving on Interstate 10 in a 2019 Nissan Frontier but was involved in a crash off the side of the road. The Nissan reportedly collided with a concrete barrier. The victim and a passenger exited the disabled car, and a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado struck the Nissan, which was in the right lane. The Nissan struck the victim leading to fatal injuries. The woman was declared dead at the scene. 

The passenger also suffered injuries in the wreck, and responders transported the person to the hospital. 

The second crash happened at about the same time as the first on LA Highway 983 in West Baton Rouge Parish. Two people were killed in the incident when a northbound 2017 Jeep Wrangler crashed into a tree and caught on fire. Both of the individuals were declared dead at the scene. 

A third collision happened just hours later on LA 946 in East Baton Rouge Parish. The victim in that crash was a pedestrian who was reportedly attempting to cross the southbound lanes. A 2014 Nissan Rogue struck the victim. The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene of the collision.

Police in the area stated that it is important for drivers to avoid distractions while operating a vehicle and to never drive while impaired. They also stated that everyone should use their seatbelts at all times.
