Pedestrian Dies in Tragic Hit-and-Run Crash in Washington D.C.

D.C.- Wusa9.com writes that a pedestrian lost her life in a deadly hit-and-run crash that took place in Washington D.C. earlier this week. The victim, a 49-year-old woman, was struck on Suitland Parkway at some point in the evening.* 

Officers responded to the scene when a caller reported an unconscious woman on the roadway in the inbound lanes. Responders declared the victim dead at the site of the crash. Reports indicate that the woman was attempting to cross the roadway when a car struck her and then fled. Investigators closed down the road while they worked at the scene and all lanes were reopened early the next morning. Police have yet to identify the vehicle that was involved in the wreck. Anyone who provides information to the police in D.C. that leads to an arrest will be awarded $1,000. Police are requesting that anyone who has information regarding the tragic crash reach out to officers or Crime Solvers.
