Four-Vehicle Collision in Calhoun Injures Five
CALHOUN COUNTY, FL- Newsherald.com writes that five people sustained injuries in a crash that occurred on State Road 20 in Calhoun County. The wreck took place over the weekend near the intersection with Mason Road.*
Police reports indicate that a 1993 Ford Ranger was traveling east on SR 20 and that the driver of that vehicle failed to slow in time to avoid striking vehicles in front of him as they slowed in heavy traffic. The Ranger struck a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, pushing that car into a 2013 Ford E-150.
The collision caused the Ranger to then veer into the westbound lanes of traffic where it collided head-on with a 2015 Toyota Highlander. The 31-year-old man operating the Ranger suffered severe injuries in the collision. The 21-year-old woman driving the Elantra, and the 37-year-old woman driving the Highlander also suffered severe injuries in the wreck.
There were two passengers in the Hyundai, and both sustained minor injuries. The report did not indicate what, if any, charges are being filed against the drivers.
