Driver Dies in Tragic Crash on Interstate 95
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL- Miami.cbslocal.com writes that a driver died and two other people suffered injuries in a collision that occurred on Davie Boulevard near Interstate 95.*
The police report that one of the victims died at the scene while another suffered injuries that are considered life-threatening. Responders transferred the severely injured individuals to the Broward County Medical Center.
The authorities identified the man who died at the scene as a 22-year-old who was the father of one young daughter.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision. An SUV reportedly exited Interstate 95 traveling fast and heading southbound. At the intersection, the vehicle struck another car at high speed and ended up resting on top of the car.
First responders had to extricate victims from the highly damaged vehicle.
The east and westbound lanes of Davie Boulevard had to be closed during the morning commute while investigators worked at the scene.
Police suspect alcohol might have played a role in the terrible crash.
