Fatal Pedestrian Collision Occurs on Moreland Ave. in Atlanta, Georgia
ATLANTA, GA. – According to a news report published online at cbs46.com, a fatal pedestrian collision occurred on Moreland Avenue in Atlanta, Georgia. Authorities have not identified the victim or the driver of the vehicle but have said that the driver remained at the scene following the accident.*
The collision occurred in the morning at the intersection of Moreland Avenue and Cedar Grove Road. The Atlanta Police Department and CBS 46 report that a pedestrian was walking in the area and was hit by a vehicle. It is not clear what direction the vehicle had been traveling or where the pedestrian was walking. No description of the vehicle was included in the news report.
Officers did not specify if the pedestrian was walking along the road, was inside a lane, or was attempting to cross the road. It is unclear if the pedestrian was inside of a crosswalk or if a crosswalk was present at the intersection. Investigators have not said who had the right-of-way at the time of the accident.
