Three are Sent to the Hospital in Ashtabula County Accident
HARPERSFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH – According to an online news report at cleveland19.com, three motorcycles crashed in Ashtabula County during a processional.*
The accident occurred on Interstate 90 close to Ohio 534 in the nighttime hours. Per the Ohio State Patrol, a 28-year-old man was operating his motorcycle in the left hand lane on Interstate 90 when he lost control and flipped over. A 72-year-old man following behind attempted to swerve out of the way. In the process, he lost control of his bike and also flipped over. Another man, a 56-year-old, collided with the 72-year-old’s motorcycle.
The 56-year-old and the 72-year-old were transported to a local hospital for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The 28-year-old was also transported by medical helicopter to an area hospital.
Police indicate that alcohol impairment does not appear to have been a contributing factor in the accident.
The crash occurred during a funeral procession. A large group of motorcyclists led the procession. It is not clear how the accident occurred.
