Three-Car Crash Reported on Washington Rd. in Columbia County, Georgia

COLUMBIA COUNTY, GA. – According to a news story posted online at, a three-car crash was reported on Washington Road in Columbia County, Georgia. The investigation into the accident is still in its preliminary stages, and authorities have not yet released detailed information about the circumstances of the crash.*

The accident happened in the morning at the intersection of Washington Road and Bobby Jones Expressway. WRDW states that shortly before 7 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection on a call about a traffic crash. It appears that three cars were involved in the accident, but no information about the cars, including makes and models, was provided in the report. 

The nature of the collision and the events leading to it were also not reported. It is unclear what direction the vehicles had been traveling prior to the collision and how they came to crash. 

Several emergency agencies responded, and it is not clear which will be handling the investigation of the accident. No details regarding the factors that might have been involved in the wreck or whether one driver might have been at fault were immediately provided to the media. Authorities have not announced any information about possible charges or whether charges are anticipated in connection with the collision. 

The news story did not say how many people were involved in the accident, nor was it clear from the story whether any injuries were sustained. It is unclear if anyone required emergency medical transport to a hospital following the crash. No one involved in the accident was identified. 

As crews worked at the scene to investigate and clear the wreckage, one lane was blocked off on Bobby Jones Expressway. The report did not say how long the roadway remained partially blocked.
