Teenager Tragically Killed in Vehicle Crash in Avondale, Arizona

AVONDALE, AZ. – According to an online news article published by, a teenager was tragically killed in a vehicle crash that happened in Avondale, Arizona. Authorities are still in the process of investigating the wreck, which the news article says involved a total of four vehicles.*

The accident occurred in Avondale, which is west of Phoenix, Arizona. The name of the roadway on which the collision happened was not reported, nor was any information about the specific location of the accident. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and the New Canaan Advertiser report that a vehicle of unknown make and model was broken down on a roadway, while two other vehicles were stopped to assist.

The report indicates that the other two vehicles were helping to hook a tow line to the disabled vehicle, but it is not clear if one of these vehicles was a tow truck. Deputies state that while the tow line was being hooked up, a fourth vehicle approached the scene and ended up crashing into the three vehicles stopped on the roadway. It is not yet clear what caused the accident. Deputies indicated that speeding might have been a factor but have not announced the official cause of the wreck. 

The New Canaan Advertiser reports that a person who was underneath the disabled vehicle at the time of the collision was injured in the crash and tragically died. Officials identified the victim as an eighteen-year-old man. 

The driver of the fourth vehicle was identified as a 23-year-old woman. It is not clear if she was injured in the crash. The report indicates that six people in total were involved, and two people were taken to a hospital with injuries. These people are said to be in stable condition, but the seriousness of their injuries was not reported.
