Multi-Vehicle Car Accident Occurs in Burke County on River Road, Injuries Sustained

BURKE COUNTY, GA – According to an online news report at, a multi-vehicle accident occurred on River Road in Burke County where injuries have been reported.*

Per the Burke County Chief Deputy, the accident that occurred earlier this week caused two individuals to be taken to an area hospital for treatment.   According to the Burke County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, there was a multi-vehicle accident that occurred on River Road at Collins Road.  

Per the Georgia Department of Public Safety, a man was heading eastbound on Highway 56 in a 2001 Ford Ranger when he did not maintain lane.  A woman heading westbound on Highway 56 in a 2007 Mazda CX-9 struck the man’s vehicle in the right rear as a result of him crossing into the westbound lane of the roadway.  

Both vehicles left the roadway before flipping over and resting on the shoulder.  

Two of the victims involved in the crash were transported to a local hospital for treatment.  Their conditions are not known at this time.  There are no further details on the accident.  The crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
