Georgia College Student Involved in Accident in Milledgeville, Georgia
MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – According to an online news report at unionrecorder.com, a Georgia College student sustained serious injuries over the weekend after three automobiles were struck by the operator of a fourth vehicle.*
According to the Georgia State Patrol in Milledgeville, Georgia, they have been able to identify the victim as a 22-year-old woman from Macon, Georgia who is currently attending Georgia College.
The woman received treatment at the scene by emergency personnel. She was transported to Grady Emergency Medical Services due to the severe nature and extent of her injuries. She was later airlifted to the Medical Center Navicent Health hospital in Macon. The woman’s current condition has not been reported at this time.
The driver of a vehicle sideswiped two other automobiles before it hit into another automobile that led to the injuries that the woman sustained. The woman appears to have been standing at the left rear passenger side of the fourth vehicle that was involved in the multi-vehicle accident.
The driver of a Chevrolet Cruze, who is identified as an eighteen-year-old boy from McDonough, Georgia, was headed eastbound on Montgomery Street, per the Georgia State Patrol. This driver indicated that he was injured following the crash. He noted to police that at the time of the accident, he “blacked out.” Charges are pending against the driver. It does not appear that drugs and alcohol are factors in the crash.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the local police.
